Oscilloscope for beginner

Post by NuzakFarnas »

Hi, I picked up `Learning The Art of Electronics: A Hands On Lab Course` and would like to start going through it, I have basic understanding of electronics, and I would like to expand that.
I was lucky to find a Fluke 87v second hand with a really good price, and I'm shopping for the components needed (based on an excel sheet I found on EEVBlog).
Now, I would like to get an Oscilloscope, and I don't know what I'm looking for in a one, I need something that would allow me to complete the book, and experiment with Arduino projects, and don't leave me needing.

Hi NuzakFarnas,

I won't answer this directly as I haven't looked through the Lab course material, but as a starting point, what you could do is look through our guide here: https://www.picotech.com/library/application-note/oscilloscope-tutorial while, hopefully, someone who has had a similar learning experience will be able to tell you how they arrived at their choice of an oscilloscope.
