CW mode - ask for explanation

Post by piotrkf »

I can't find in manual explanation what does sweep frequency CW mode means. What is the difference in device operation between CW box checked and unchecked ?

Hi

If the box is checked then the VNA will output in CW(carrier wave) mode where it will output at a single frequency, the set start frequency), for the entire sweep so that you can observe changes in the S-parameter with time or vary the power output and see how the S-parameter varies with power.

CW mode and everything I believe I understood a little, I set the calibrations and the all setup I used to do with other vnas as an active user for Keysight, however I am not able to get an any reliable output from the VNA:/ Just noise spikes varies 40 db either from s11 and s21 even I put load and through connections nothing changes... Did we received faulty unit?
