Start Trigger and Timer PicoScope Software

Post by Wilfred_Mason »

Hello,

Is it possible to set a start trigger on the PicoScope software? Specifically I want to;

1) Read Channel A until the signal reaches a threshold
2) Once threshold reached, acquire data from Channel B over a period of time
3) Save the data from Channel B

Any guidance would be great!

Hi Wilfred,

What you are describing is a rising edge Trigger on channel A, which you can set by changing the Trigger Mode (the drop down window to the right of 'Trigger' at the bottom left of the screen) to 'Single' or 'Repeat' (depending upon whether you want to capture one waveform or many), then selecting 'Advanced Triggers' (the icon to the right of 'Trigger Mode') and setting your threshold value. Once the trigger fires, any channels that are active will be captured, so you just have to make sure that you have activated channel B, set the Timebase to a value larger than the period of time you want to capture channel B for, and set the Trigger point (by clicking and dragging the yellow trigger diamond in the middle of the screen) far enough to the left to capture the waveform of channel B for as long as you need. You can then just go to the File menu to save your waveform.
