Can you trigger on CAN frame or Ethernet payload ?

Post by Markro6974 »

I am interested In measuring latency between a CAN frame which generates audio on a speaker as a result (also the same question for ethernet)

I would like to know if the advanced triggering would allow for trigger of a specific frame and some payload bytes as CAN bus will be busy with other signals too. I read some blurb on advanced triggering but it was not clear if this is possible. This then allows me to see the CAN frame and on a analogue port the audio signal ?

I also have same question for Ethernet where a decoded byte sequence can by used as a trigger on one scope port to capture along with an analogue wave form resulting from that frame?

If only particular scope series are capable please recommend the series’

Serial decoding is performed post capture in the software so can't be used as a trigger event. There are a suite of advanced triggers which, coupled with the deep memory available with PicoScopes and the packet filtering in the software, may help to capture specific scenarios.

I would suggest emailing support@picotech.com to discuss this in more detail.
