TC-08 giving + readings when they should be negative

Post by Thermalman »

HI, I have a laptop loaded with Windows 7 running PicoLog 6 and when i connect the Type T connectors to the inputs from a Cryostat (freezer basically) the Temperature Values that should be a minus value are showing as positive temperatures and also some of the values are outside of the range that i am expecting, i.e higher than the permitted values. I have checked the connectors on both the Cryostat and the cabling and i know these are wired correctly. The only way i can get the USB TC-08 to show me a negative value is to swap the polarity of the cabling in the Type T connectors - Positive cable wired to negative and Negative wire connected to positive. I was wondering if perhaps my datalogger is wired incorrectly inside? I tried the correctly wired cables in an Omega Temperature Meter and that reads minus temperatures when connected correctly? Is there a way of me checking if the issue is with the datalogger. I only found this out after sending the files to our support people and they could not understand how my reading were so wrong so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Thermalman,

It sounds as if there could indeed be a problem with the data logger.

Could you contact our Help Desk at support@picotech.com giving the same details (or referring to this post) so that we can help you further with this issue.

Regards,
