Error occurred while collecting data and terminated before the scope close, now it will not reconnect

Hello,
I'm using VBA to open the scope, log data, and report the results in excel. I just ran into a very frightening problem; my scope was right in the middle of collecting data and an error occurred causing the program to terminated before the PicoScope was closed via ps3000_close_unit(ps3000_handle) and now the scope will not connect at all... I've tried sending the ps3000_close_unit(ps3000_handle) command to the scope but that did not seem to do anything. I also tried opening PicoScope 6 to see if it would connect and no luck. Power cycling has no effect. Please help!

This looks like we may need to get the PicoScope returned for examination and test. Could you send us an email at support@picotech.com.

In the email could you tell us the following:
Could you give us more detail about the error that occurred (e.g. was it a windows error, dll error, coding error, etc - were you able to get a snapshot or write-down any error description, or was it completely unexplained?)

Does the LED on the front panel illuminate, when connected via USB?
