Math Channel Setups

We are using our 3224 scopes for vibration spectrum monitoring on turbine engines. From calibrating our Data System we know that 66.8mv equals 1 IPS (Inches per second). We set up a math channel with the formula (channel)/66.8 to tell us in IPS what the given amplitude is at the specific frequency.

As an example: 20mv = .2994 IPS

What we are getting though is values in scientific notation.

Are we missing something in the setup? Is there a way to force the program to only use straight decimals?

Knowing our luck, it's probably something simple and stupid that we are missing.

Hi

The ruler measurements take the same form as the y-axis labels. For small numbers, standard form is used (to maximise graph space) and it's not possible to change this.

If you use a custom probe to do the scaling instead of a maths channel, it would use unit prefixes rather than standard form. For example, your y-axis might be in mIPS or microIPS.
