Hi I’ve just brought a Pico 2250a scope.
For testing purposes, the test probes which came with the scope (brand new)
Have a x1 or x10 selector on, and can only input up to 20vs on x1?
For testing injectors realistically they could spike up to 100vs. Am I right In saying that by selecting the 10x on probe and letting the software know it’s on 10x and then selecting 20v+- voltage range, it allows me up to 200v +- which would be safe for testing injectors?
Just didn’t want to damage my scope before I’ve even started!

Yes, you would be able to measure up to 200V on a x10 setting. however, if the impulse energy of the spikes you are measuring can be classified as CAT II or higher according to the IEC 61010 safety requirements for electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use, then you will need to use an appropriately rated Probe (such as one of these: https://www.picotech.com/accessories/active-oscilloscope-probes) to protect your PicoScope and yourself from a potentially hazardous voltage (although with a 100V peak, it would seem unlikely).
If what you are measuring is an automotive fuel injector then we have test leads and back probing leads in our automotive test kits that we recommend (which you can find on our automotive site www.picoauto.com). You would also find more help on the Automotive forum.
