5244A and 5244D

Post by BSI »

Hello,
I have a few questions about the versions A and D of the 5244 picoscope:
- Beside migrating to USB 3.0 with the D version, are there any other changes documented beside the one I found in the API programming guide for 5000A rev 4?
- Which 5000 series sdk version work with the 5244D (would PicoSDK_32_10.6.10.22 work ?) .
- If a 5244D is used on a USB2.0 port, can I use a double USB 2.0 cable (like the one provided with 5000 A series with 2x USB A connectors, one of the two sourcing extra power) to run the 5244D ?
Thx.
L.

Apart from USB3 the D model has twice the memory compared to the A version, and will also work on the majority of USB2 ports with a single headed cable, although you can use a double headed cable if the single port doesn't provide enough power.

You will need the latest version of the SDK (10.6.13 )to talk with the 5244D, and this version will also work with the A model.

Thx Martyn.
Are their SDK function calls I should look at more specifically, ones that may break using the D, or expected modifications at the application level, with the updated SDK please? Thx
