Trigger capture time

Post by strangequark »

I've been looking around in the manual and unfortunately am not very well-versed in the terminology. So, the manual does not help me understand which feature I need...

My question is regarding the number of files that are being saved when the trigger is tripped and starts to record data and then saves it to a file via the alarms feature...

I have a mask and trigger set up for a 1 V threshold on one channel. The data is indeed being recorded only when there is a mask/trigger event which is what I need, but it seems to do this in several separate files -- every second or so?? This is becoming confusing and cumbersome. I looked into sample rate, advanced trigger options and I still don't understand what I'm doing. Basically, I need the data to be recorded for the entire duration in which the mask fail is happening to see how long this event is happening start to finish. Why is it recording and saving in several separate files after only 1 mask fail? :?

Hi

What alarms exactly have you set to occur on mask fail?
