Viewing Saved Files

Post by hrsnblm »

I've tried to view a couple of saved files so that I can compare specific information regarding these traces. However, when I try and open two files OR add a second scope view and then open a scope file all I get is one scope file view. Is there way to perform this task?

Hi hrsnblm,

You can only work with one set of data in PicoScope 6. If you want to visually compare 2 different sets of data you need to open another instance of PicoScope 6 to view it (you can do that in windows by just double clicking the 2nd psdata file).

Thanks for the info. :D It would be a nice feature for a future builds. Especially if you don't more than a couple of channels and you want to compare and sync the traces more accurately.

Hi hrsnblm,

You may be able to align the starts or trigger points of 2 different captures on 2 different Scopes but, unfortunately, because the sample clocks are likely to be different, the traces would drift out of sync, and when, and by how much they drift would vary for any pair of scopes (introducing uncertainty). So, any valid inter-scope analysis would be limited.
