ARINC-429 serial protocol decoding

Post by Damian Lopez »

Hi everyone,

I just registered on this forum as a new PicoScope owner.

I'm interested in decoding ARINC 429 signals, and while the device does a great job at capturing the raw data, the big step is to turn those zeroes and ones into human-readable messages (parameter name, value, etc). The user manual says that "link files" are the way to do this, but these can take a long time to create for complex protocols like ARINC 429.

Is there a forum or repository where users can share link files they have created for different protocols?

Hi Damian,

I apologise for the delay in responding to this.

We don't as yet, have a repository for serial decoding link files. Did you have a link file to share, or were you just looking for one.

This is currently being looked into, for a few of the available protocols, as to whether we will provide more information in the decoder itself, or go the route of a link file approach.

Regards,

Gerry

Hello Gerry,

We just bought a PicoScope 3203D specifically to use for our ARINC429 project. I'd be interested in any information you may share as well as we're new to this endeavor and so on the backside of what seems a bit of a learning curve. I do know that the PicoScope has saved us thousands of dollars for working with the ARINC429 protocol files ... thank you in advance for any assistance you may offer sir.

Mike
