voltage leak change in data

Post by jamesCTS »

Hi there forum i have a picolog tc-08 which i normally use for data logging temp, i also want to use it for pressure.
I have a breakout board and made a voltage divider to drop the voltage from the pressure sensor 0-10v to 0-5v.

i set the channel to accept the 0-5 volt on the pico log software, then plug the breakout board into the tc-08 and i am only getting millivolts and the temperatures that i am logging begin to drop. I can only assume this is some sort of voltage leak.
Has any one got any idea about this?

I have once or twice a while back got into single digit volts so this has confused me a little.

Many thanks in advance.
James

Hi Damian,

I apologise for the delay in responding to this.

The TC-08 Terminal board/adapter already divides voltages down and has a voltage divider on the 5V connector which is a 100K resistor in series with a 1K resistor across the Channel input. So, what you need to do is just add another 100K resistor in series, to divide 10V down.
