Supplying PS5444 from separate 5V/3A power supply

Post by A_Gebhart »

Hi
I tried to supply my PS5444 from a separate 5V/3A power source fed from a battery, but it does not recognize this power supply. The polarity was correct.
What ist the reason?

Hi A_Gebhart,

Does it work when fed from the PSU that comes with the PicScope?

You need to check that the correct voltage is available at the PicoScope, and that it hasn't dipped below 4.5V due to battery drain and/or cabling. If the voltage goes below 4.5 (or above 5.5 V) even momentarily, this may trip the input under-/over-voltage protection in the scope and disconnect power to the unit.

If the voltage is correct, and it works with the standard PSU then try measuring the current drawn in both cases to see if there is a difference.
