Testing Electrolysis Unit

Post by LOZ »

We are developing a new water electrolysis unit that uses a digital pulsed wave. Although we can see the shape of the wave with our oscilloscope, we need to be able to calculate the overall current drawn by the system.

Looking at your product range, I can see we would have much clearer results by using your pc oscilloscopes, but would your software be able to trace the pulsed wave and calculate the overall current used by the unit (amps & volts).

We will initially be working in the milliamp range, with voltages around the 2v mark.

Thanks

Hi,

Thank you for your post. To do as you require you will need a unit with two ADC's on board, so that the voltage and ampage can be sampled at the same time. The units that have this ability are the ADC-212/50, ADC-212/100. ADC-200/50, ADC-200/100 and the PS3000 series.

Pico has a current clamp that will measure 10mA intervals this being the 60A Current clamp, if you need something that can measure smaller ampage intervals then you will need to source your own current clamp. The current clamp will give a voltage out that is proportional to the current being read. This reading can then be scaled back to the ampage level using a custom range.

Please do not hesitate to contact us again if you require further information.

Best regards,
Regards,

Mark Spencer
