Transfer function measurement with 4227

Post by jwasys »

Hello forum members,

I have a question regarding the 4227. I am planning to measure the transfer function of a network, and was thinking to do this with the 4227. The idea would be to fill the AWG with an appropriate waveform, arm the scope and then trigger both.

Bandwidth needed is 5Mhz.

After rereading the spec I see the AWG has a bandwidth of 100KHz. But what comes out if I put in say a 5Mhz square ? Will anything come out or is there a steep filter.

Maybe anyone can suggest a better solution.

Thanks,

Arian

Whilst the 4227 may be suitable for measuring the transfer function of your network, the AWG would not be suitable for generating a suitable waveform at 5MHz. For that you would need to consider an alternative signal source or use one of our other scopes.

You may wish to discuss these requirements directly with the team, support@picotech.com
