Running 2 ADC212/50 on 1 machine

Post by grech »

Dear Sirs,

Today I received a Dualport parallel interface From you.
I selled this one, in oder to get 2 Pico adc212/50 running with
this interfacecard.

But all my efforts have been without sucess.
Only 1 adc212 can the activated by picoscope or by my software,
and this is the one connected to the printerport on the motherboard.

the adc_get_unit_info call returns the following
first port :
ADC200 Driver V3.02 / ADC212-50 V13 on LPT3 / Batch EJL30 / Cal date 30Oct03 / pico.sys V85.170
second port:
ADC200 Driver V3.02 / Error 13 (H255 S0) / pico.sys V85.170

Software used:
win2k sp4 / adc20032.dll 31.07.2002 or adc20032.dll 27.05.2003 / adc200.sys 07.08.2002

Thank you for helping

Hi,

I am sorry to hear that you are unable to use the PCI paralllel port. Enter the bios and make sure that it is set up as such.

SPP, Normal, Unidirectional, Output only, AT.

Do not set it to ECP, EPP or Bidirectional. Although these sometimes do work, they generally can be unstable in communication. The error that you are receiving is a communication error.

Picoscope can only use one unit at a time, this is a limitation on the software. To write your own software and use more than one unit you will need to look at the function:

adc200_set_unit

Best regards,

Hi,
Using your Drivercalls is clear to me.
I although know that picoscope can not work with more than 1 adc212 at the same time.
But it should recognize adc212 connected to lpt2 or lpt3.
But it it only shows the mesage "ADC200 unit not found on ...".

To adjust the portsettings for lpt2 and lpt3 there should be a section in the bios-setup to do this. But there is no such section. I am only able to adjust
these values for the lpt1, that is on the motherboard. And with this port all words fine.

The bios used is Award Medallion Bios v6.0 for ASUS P4S8X-X Revision 1004.
I although tried the Enumating tool on the PCI IO diskette. But without sucess. I think it's only for Win-NT.
For more details please see my email from yesterday.
Thanks

Hi,

Check to see if you can change the parallel port settings through the software device manager. I have found in the help manual that the port settings on NT expect to find the io as follows:
Note: The Windows NT driver does not have access to the actual base addresses for the printer ports. It assumes that they are:

LPT1 0x278
LPT2 0x378
LPT3 0x3BC
This can be found in the ADC200 help manual, under Windows NT/2000 driver.

Best regards,
Regards,

Mark Spencer
