Very unsatisfied with the PICOSCOPE 4424 ...

Post by Ortenzi »

I don't know why some controls are disable in my picoscope 4424. The peak to peak measurement can't be adjusted to the limits I want. The frequencies can't be filtered in measurement options to show only the peaks above a specific limit. Take a look on the image file. In LABVIEW I 've used the same sensor (piezoeletric acoustic sensor) and I could set up all levels of frequency or amplitude. I thunk this oscilloscope should be run as really one. And you didn't tell us what are the signals measurements limitations because we can't find anything about: You can't use this product if you want control the low and high levels of a signal. This product doesn't works as a real oscilloscope but only emulates one ... At least with this software I very unsatisfied. I take a signal but without control on it. I can't use the 4 channels in frequency mode, for example. But I need to do this. I must have four channels adjusted by frequency. Finally, it's great to create our own adjustments, but I'm a oscilloscope user and I'm interested only in teka measurements. I could acquire a National Instruments data loggers and design my own software, but I can't waste my time. I'm only a user and not a hard or soft developer.

Hi Ortenzi,

Sorry to see you are having problems, from the image I can see that you have scope view and spectrum view open. As such the measurements you are seeing is only for the scope mode and not the spectrum mode. If you just had the spectrum mode open then the measurement options would change.

What exactly are you trying to measure, why do you want to filter out a signal in spectrum mode? Surely in spectrum mode you want to see all frequencies?

What version of the software are you using as well?

Kind regards

I'm using the 6.4.92.0 ... So, I want know if the Picoscope 4424 is capable to take at least 60 points per second in the frequency range of 2.5 up to 650 kHz by 400 seconds without interruption using only one wave. Regarding the filter, I need the high pass. The low pass I'm using the internal from oscilloscope. Despite this issue, I've saved a series of files but when I'm trying to open them the software remains blocked. I've inserted two math channels and I couldn't reopen the file to work in the data. This and other unknown issue are taking place and freezes the software. For my purpose it's very complicated because the software isn't reliable.

Hi the 4424 will give you about 16,666,672 samples for 1 channel on a 50S/division timebase. at a sample rate of 33.33kS/s.

Unfortunately we do not have high pass filtering you would have to do this externally via circuitry.

I have forwarded your file to one of our software engineers to see if they can open it. What version of the software did you use to save the waveform? Was this also done with 6.4.92?

Kind regards
