TC08 and CT with mV AC output

Post by Stuby65 »

Is it possible to connect a CT with a 333mV AC output at peak to a TC08 through a channel terminal board? I am also looking at connecting a pressure guage with mV outputs through a similar setup if possible.
If so what do I need to consider? :|

I have attached the CT specs, is the terminal board DC?

Hi the USB-TC08 will not be quick enough for your CT, as the conversion time of the ADC is 100ms.

A Picolog 1216 would most likely be suitable for your application, although you would have to create some extra circuitry on the terminal board provided. The reason for this is that the Picolog 1216 measures 0 to 2.5V, i.e. it is unipolar. The circuitry you would need to do would offset your voltage to allow you to measure bipolar signals. The Picolog 1216 has 12 bits resolution so the minimum voltage step you will be able to see will be approximately 0.6mV.

The pressure transducer will probably be ok for the TC-08 thought, but without knowing what the sensors's specification is I cannot say for sure.
