Signal interference when using ADC-100 and Win-XP

Post by Jorgen » Tue Jan 06, 2004 3:11 pm

Hi all,

I have a problem with signal interference when using a C++ program and a ADC-100. The signal sometimes (can't always be reproduced) becomes noisy when a program (e.g. Internet Explorer 5.0) runs in the background. This is only observed on computers running XP and not on Win-2000.

The same problem is observed using a LabView program also using Win-XP.

Any ideas or solutions of this problem??

Regards Jørgen

Hi,

What does the signal look like normally when using Picoscope on the XP machine. If it looks noisy try the adapter and check that it has been registered:

Help | About - it should be 'Use Adapter' if not use the following patch in File | Set up | Convertor

f0:2

If the signal is fixed then you will have to use the adapter for the c++ program as well. To do this place the following into the win.ini file:

[ADC100]
UseAdapter=Yes

Best regards,
Regards,

Hi Mark

Actually we are using a ADC-101 (a 100 with buildin adaptor) and I added the modifications to the win.ini file. So there is nothing wrong here.

Regarding the signal, it is nearly stable without a program running in the background, but when we start e.g. IE, the signal sometimes becomes much more noisy.
