One of the specifications of the PicoScope 2205 is:
±50 mV to ±20 V in 9 ranges
Those this mean that the minimum voltage that can be detected and displayed is 50mV?

And what does the 9 ranges mean?

Hi,
The most sensitive range on the 2205 is ±50 mV. That means that since it is an 8 bit scope it has 256 steps of resolution over the full range from -50 mV to + 50 mV and can resolve in steps of 100 mv/256 = 0.39 mV. A sine wave that is 4 mV peak to peak will be a bit like "Steps" with only 9-10 individual voltage levels.
There are 9 such ranges available:- ±50 mV, ±100 mV, ±200 mV,±500 mV, ±1 V, ±2 V, ±5 V, ±10 V, ±20 V.
Each range will have a voltage step equal to the full scale deflection (±) divided by 256.

I would highly appreciate if you could add ranges for asymmetric signals.

E.g.

-1 to 9V
0 to 10V
-1 to 19V
0 to 20V

Hi,
You can use the scaling and offset controls to give you those exact ranges visible on the screen but you will lose one bit of resolution (128 steps).
