TC 08 different sampling rates

Post by fozwanger »

I need to record a block of data for 160msec at the highest sample rate then record for the following hour at 0.1 sec sample rate and repeat this over a number of days/weeks continuously.
Can the unit perform this function? If so, how do I go about this.

I can set the sample rate for either spec, but not both.
Can I make the device record at the high rate, wait, then open another file with the slower rate? Or can I get the device to log my 1 secs high sample rate data then automatically switch to the low sample rate

Or can't I do that?

All comments greatly appreciated

Hi I think I may have spoken to you on the phone. In any case I will repeat the TC-08 has a conversion time of 100ms per channel plus 100ms for the cold junction. So if you had 8 channels the time would be 800 ms for each channel and 100ms for the cold junction plus a bit of overhead.

So unfortunately this is not achievable for the TC-08.

Kind regards
