Logger EL005 & Software R5.20.0

Post by BSB »

Hi, I have an old EL005 logger which works with R.24 Enviromon software. With R5.20.0 the logger fails to restart after being programed. I know the logger software can be up dated with logload. This logger has the reset switch on the PCB in side the box which when pressed does not appear to halt the logger (make the LED stay on) so it can be reprogrammed. Is this logger too old for R5.20.0?
If not how do I load the logload software, what is the procedure.

Hi the reset button should be between the RS232 connector and red LED. Is there a small between them? You should gently press a paper clip in this hole, it basically is a button as you press the paper clip you feel the button being pushed.

Let me know how you get on.

Kind regards

Unfortunately the logger I have is very old and the reset switch is actually on the PCB inside (flat in the middle of the board). Even when this was pressed I could not halt the logger to load the new logload software. The later ones have the reset button under the green spot on the front cover.
Do you think the very early loggers can be still loaded with the latest software?.

Hi this is an older unit, it should still work as the hardware is the same (apart from the button ofcourse). What I would say is try removing one of the battery terminals so that you can make sure the device is reset. Also try going through the logload procedure without the battery connected.

Let me know how you get on.
