Where's the Demo Mode?

Post by mstax » Sat Mar 28, 2009 1:51 am

I just got the 2205 Education kit version with PicoScope

PicoScope® 6 - PC Oscilloscope software version:
Copyright 1995-2009, Pico Technology Ltd

There is no device connected.

When running the software with the USB cable unplugged there is no option as is indicated:

"Demonstration mode

If you start PicoScope with no scope device connected, the Connect Device dialog automatically appears with a list of Demonstration devices for you to choose from. Once you have selected a demonstration device and clicked OK, PicoScope adds a Demo Signals toolbar to the main window. Use this toolbar to set up the test signals from your demonstration device."

What's up? Yes, I tried right-clicking the software icon and selecting "Run As Administrator" ... I'm using an Acer Aspire 9410Z laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium... 2G of ram.

Demo mode is not currently available in the educational version of PicoScope 6.

You can download and install the standard version, which does include demo mode (www.picotech.com/software).

The only difference between the two (apart from demo mode!) is that the education version includes the "experiments" menu that describes a number of possible experiments and the signals you would expect to see.
