Smooth scrolling between waveform buffers

Post by toploser »

Some of the waveforms I capture over 32 buffers have information in them that is split across 2 or more buffers. Is there any way to scroll smoothly across the join between buffers rather than just viewing only 1 discrete buffer at a time?

HI toploser,

The waveform buffers will have an associated delay between each of them. Which product are you using? Have you thought of using a longer timebase?

Kind regards

Sorry, I have a newly acquired 3205.

So there is a time gap between each of the (default) 32 buffers? That would be a right old pain. I thought the buffers were contiguous in time.

I can use a longer timebase but then there aren't enough samples to adequately resolve the signals I'm looking for over the length of time I need to capture.

How many samples are captured in each of the (by default) 32 buffers? If I reduce the number of buffers to 1 will that allow more samples in that buffer?

Sorry if these seem trivial questions.
