MSI installation (network install)

Post by Guest »

Hello, after recently being advised by your good selves, I have purchased a PicoScope 2205 and it looking very good.

Now Software Installation, as this is a school we need to roll it out via a network install. Usually and in our case it needs to be in the MSI format regularly used (e.g. LogIT dataloggers use this for network installs)

I cannot find PicoScope6 installation in this format on the CD and the only download is also an executable format. Unfortunatly this hinders our use and 'demo' use for learning. It is not so bad for a few PC's but putting it on out laptop bank and any new PC's automatically our IT department our not happy with us.

So is there a MSI install or some other way to obtain one ?

Hello guest,

You will find PicoScope6.msi on the software CD in D:\software\windows\32bit\picoscope6

You will need to ensure that .net framework 2.0 is installed.

Ah so it is

though how would I go about getting this for v6.1.0 (I have v6.0.15 from CD R38) and future versions if they are needed.

As a side note, on this R38 cd when I check for update I get this error coming up Error. Does not compute: cdR.6.0.5 , webR.6.1.0

when I assume it should say, a new version is available.

Anyways, thanks and I can hopefully get started on this older revision of v6.

Hi bensimmo,

John does not work here anymore, sorry for the delay in response. Every time you run a .exe file it will create a .msi file in c:\WINDOWS\Installer\ windows will generate a unique name for it so you may have to look at it by date.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Hello, we're also trying to install PicoScope 6 via a the MSI on the disk. The software itself seems to work fine but the drivers for teh PicoScope 3000 series do not install correctly. We are getting the following error:

error loading ps3000.dll
The Module could not be found

From reading other posts I know that this dll should be in the same dir as the exe but it's now where to be seen, either on the disk or after teh install.

Can anyone help?
Thanks
P
