Pulse Width Measurement Not working on my 2205 s/w 6-0-16-4

Post by planetbrain »

PicoScope 2205 - PC Oscilloscope software version: 6-0-16-4
I have a square wave with two alternating high pulse widths (128us and 148us) and a low pulse with of 64us. However when I do a high pulse width measurement over the whole trace (1000 capture count)I get the Min to be 138us, the Max to be 138us and the Average to be 138us. I would have expected Min 128us, Max 148us and Average 138us. Can someone tell me why I'm being stupid or can I have a fix on the way soon?

Hi Adam,

The problem here is that only zero crossing points can be determined, and therefore, the max, Min and Avg will increasingly merge over many cycles.

The solution is to place a complete cycle between a pair of rulers and select the measurement 'Between Rulers'

John
