DSP / Low-Pass filter

Post by Derree »

Hi everybody!

I was looking for a way to minimize aliasing due to out of bandwidth signal components when using my 2407B. As there are apparently no anti-aliasing filters implemented in the front end of the picoscopes, I was looking for a way to cut off the top end post adc, as most oscilloscopes come with a Low-Pass filter option with a cut-off at 20 MHz. I have found a DSP Option in the channel menu which gives me a user definable Low-Pass filter up to a bandwidth beyond the 3 dB point of my scope. I have 2 questions: 1) is this something like a FIR-filter post adc, and 2) can this Low-Pass filter prevent aliasing due to high-frequency components which break nyquist? Thanks in advance!
