Measure 1PPS for PTP precision
Measure 1PPS for PTP precision
I need to precisely measure the time differences between 1PPS signals, for checking PTP behaviour on network equipment's.
So the signal frequency is very low but the required precision is high, say 1 to 10 ns.
How do I relate this requirement with the specifications of a scope ? It seems that I need 1 GSPS on two simultaneous channels, can you confirm ?
Besides, the equipment's outputs are SMA sockets with 50 Ohm impedance; is there an adapter for that ? I have seen the TA051 but it seems that it needs a further BNC/SMA adapter and requires a "50 Ohm enabled" picoscope, ie a series 6000 one.
Thanks !
