Suggestion: Flatpak or Snap release for PS7 - Linux

Post by RolesG »

Hi- I'm new here!
I've noticed a lot of issues with trying to install PicoScope 6 and 7 on Linux, including myself. I am now using PicoScope products in-class, and having the software on my Linux laptop would be great. However I'm running Fedora 38, and there is no easy way to install the software without using some workarounds. I think a fantastic solution would be to install it with flatpak. This would also make it easy for anyone to install it on any distro provided they can install flatpak itself.

I agree.
@RolesG did you manage to get PS7 working on Fedora 38 with workarounds? I am trying myself, but PS crash before it starts properly.

Hi,

I've put together a solution that should work on most Linux distros with very little effort.

It's described in this forum post: topic42387.html?&p=149319

Let me know via the Github issue tracker if you have any difficulty with it.
