How to select the correct oscilloscope configuration

Post by StevenW807 »

Hi, the UI display updates very slowly when I use the PicoScope oscilloscope to measure my signals. It seems like waveform the refresh rate is only 1-2Hz. Below is my hardware & software info:

Hardware: PicoScope 2206B MSO
Software: PicoScope 7 T&M
PC: Win 10, Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50GHz, 16BG memory

Configuration: port A, +/-5V, 1ms/div, sample rate 10MS/s, samples 100 kS
Signal: floating,3.3VDC, 5kHz PWM or 400kHz I2C

The oscilloscope showed a smooth waveform last week, so I believe that my hardware is enough to drive the oscilloscope. Why does the waveform update very slowly now (auto-set doesn't help)? How to set the correct configuration?

Thanks a lot

A 1 second update rate suggests that you may have a trigger mode set to auto which is not being met, this mode will return a buffer of data every second if there is no trigger. Try setting the trigger mode to None and see if this speeds things up.
