Wrong amplitude in higher frequencies

Post by JJJ »

When I try to measure 1MHz sine wave with 3203D the amplitude drops wildly. At a frequency of 100khz amplitude is correct 1V, but at 1MHz it has dropped down to 900mV. Is this due to too little bandwidth of the oscilloscope? Also waveform shape distorts at frequencies above 0.5Mhz. Square wave is more like sine then.

What do you use as signal generator.

What do you use as probe, can you try setting the probe to 1:10

update: I see the sig gen of my 3403D has a -3db point at 1MHz the drop you see is because you are approaching the limit of the signal generator.
