ps2000aGetNoOfCaptures returns wrong number

ps2000aGetNoOfCaptures returns wrong number

Model is 2208B (2000-A Series)
When I call ps2000aGetNoOfCaptures() without the trigger ever being triggered, "nCaptures" still shows a value greater than 0!
Is this the expected behaviour? I thought it would return only the number of actually captured segements, but there can not be any, if the trigger never got fired.
