Setting input impedance of the picoscope / software

Post by PicoscopeNewbie »

Hello, I am new to the picoscope but not to oscilloscopes in general (but still learning) and I cannot find where to set the input impedance of the picoscope using the program. I have looked through the manual, and online and can't find anywhere. Am I missing something simple? Does it detect automatically?

I have 50 Ohm input from device, and 1 MOhm input from my voltage probe.

If someone can help it would really be appreciated.

Thank you.

Unless you have a scope model that has this ability (e.g PS6000A/B/C/D/E), you cannot change the scope's input impedance. All other scopes have a standard 1MOhm input. If you need a 50 Ohm input, you may be able to use a 50 Ohm terminator. See answer here: https://electronics.stackexchange.com/q ... a-proper-m
