Accuracy spec for Picoscope 4444 14-bit range

Post by Jamanaman »

Hello,

I am using a Picoscope 4444 for testing and am measuring very small pulses (1-100nC scale) at voltages between 0.1 and 3V but the margin of error of the charge measurement (summed error across multiple data points in a trapezoidal sum) is large enough that it often overlaps with the acceptance criteria and so the test result is invalid. This error margin is based off of the 1% DC accuracy spec assuming 0 offset ie 1% * V_range *numpoints. Does this 1% spec apply to the 14 bit ADC as well as the 12-bit? Additionally, is the gain error value the right value to use to calculate this error margin? Finally, would an instrument calibration service have information on errors after calibration to be able to potentially reduce this value?

Cheers
