PicoScope6 does not recognize 2206B, 2405A

Post by Gaspar »

Dear PicoTech Team,
with my new laptop, I cannot use either 2206B or 2405A.

I tested the scopes on different computers, operating systems, PicoScope6 versions, drivers as follows:
- old-old Getac laptop with Windows XP(SP3), PicoScope6_r6_11_12: both scopes WORKING
- HP workstation with Windows 10: both scopes WORKING
Tested with PicoScope6_14_54 on WinVer 20H2 (Build 19042.1348) and WinVer 21H1 (Build 19043.1415),
with drivers 2.0.8 and 2.0.9 (updated from Windows Update). Screenshots attached to show Serial Numbers,
Firmware Versions etc. With Picoscope7 they WORK also.
- HP Laptop (Prod-ID: 37H64EA#ABD) Windows 10 Winver 21H1 (Build 19043.1415, same as workstation) BOTH
SCOPES NOT WORKING. Tried PicoScope_r6_14_54, PicoScope_r6_13_15, PicoScope_r6_11_12, drivers 2.0.8
and 2.0.9, also PicoScope7 software. Always Demo Mode only, devices will not be recognized.
I enclose the "install.log" and "DPINST.LOG" files and a trace-log, created on the HP laptop. The install logs
show no errors. The trace shows "EepromCorrupt[10]" which I can´t believe in as both devices work on the
other computers.

My only idea for the moment is USB 3.0. The HP laptop has USB 3.0 ONLY, the workstation and the Getac laptop USB 2.0 only. I can´t see any other difference between the workstation and the HP laptop. Yes, I use the blue USB cable from Pico (TID 60001431), does it work with USB 3.0?

Please investigate. It seems, I´m not the only one having this type of problems nowdays.

Best regards,
Gaspar

Update: the HP laptop has USB 3.1 (not 3.0 as mentioned before). An additional test with another Windows 10 mini-pc (winver 20h2, same picoscope software) with USB 3.0 connections WORKED. Is there a USB 3.1 problem?
