"No Data Error" on Linux Mint, but how to get Picoscope 6?

Post by the other Tom »

Hi!,
Ihave been using Picoscope 6 on Linux Mint with my 5242D for years without any problems, but i had to replace the SSD and reinstall it and all i could get at the moment is the new Picoscope 7 Beta, which always gives me the "No Data" error on every startup. I would like to be abled to use my Picoscope in the meantime, so how can i get the old Picoscope 6? A fix of this error would of course also help.

Hi the other Tom,

Assuming that you were using the beta for the Ubuntu distro, you can download from here: https://www.picotech.com/library/picosc ... -for-linux.

Hi Gerry,

thank you for your answer, but on that page i cant find any download button and when i try apt-get, i always get picoscope 7. I even tried another browser, but there really seems to be no way to download it.

Maybe i really just cant see it.

Regards,
Tom

I am sorry, but the problem is still 100% there. I can find any source for Picoscope 6 beta for linux anywhere, whatever i do, i only ever get Picoscope 7 beta. The link above only lists the new features of the Picoscope 6 beta version, but doesnt contain any links to the software. If there is a direct link to it, please post this one.

Also, i was hoping for an update, which fixes the "no data" error, many are facing here, but it didnt come so far.
I installed all updates, the last one about half an hour ago and it only changed, that now even the unresponsive UI that appeared before, doesnt open any more, only the "no data" error.

I am tired of only being abled to use my oscillioscope, which i need for my work, only when a friend is around and lends me his old Macbook.
Do i really have to resort to building another computer for the sole purpose to install windows and use it for my oscilloscope, which worked with my laptop just fine for years?
