failed to install 6 after 7 on ubuntu

Post by SimonD »

New to picoscope.
2204A just arrived today.
I already had PicoScope 7 installed on my Ubuntu 18.04 from before (to try out the demo). But I read that 6 and 7 can coexist, and so went ahead, following the instructions at https://www.picotech.com/downloads/linux to install PicoScope 6.
However, it told me that my installation was already up to date and, indeed
$ picoscope
launched 7, not 6.
So I uninstalled picoscope and, reinstalled, following those same instructions. Still, it downloaded and installed version 7 (and its dependencies).
Maybe 6 can only co-exist with 7 if it is installed _first_?
How can I get there from here, please?
Thanks in advace for any suggestions!
