Signal Generator Manual Trigger Initial Voltage

Post by andrewwiseman »

Hello, I am working on a project that utilizes a manual trigger for signal generation. I need the output voltage to stay at 0V when I have not triggered the signal, but when the signal is "resting", it stays at the amplitude. I cannot use the offset function to fix this because I need to generate a square wave that reaches the positive and negative amplitude. If someone could help me figure this out it would be very appreciated.

Hi Andrew,

We apologise for the delay in answering your post (there has been a lot of other work that needed attention).

In the event that you are still looking for an answer to your question, if you are describing what I think you are describing, then you will have a problem because (a) once you turn the Sig Gen on (even if you are using the AWG) the output will be in its normal state, and (b) you can't use (manually trigger) the Sig Gen until it is turned on (so I don't see how you can have an initial state of the Sig Gen output, before triggering a signal for the first time, that is different to after you have triggered it for the first time).

So, could you explain what you are trying to achieve in more detail, in particular what is the reason for wanting the Signal Generator to behave this way?

Regards,
