ID CAN decoding in DEC

Post by amem00 »

Hi,
I'm using a picoscope 2205A MSO with software version 6.14.44 for decoding a CAN communication bus.
During the decoding, I noticed that when you change the ID CAN display format from HEX to DEC, the conversion is not correct. For example if ID CAN is 580 in HEX, it is displayed 5 128 in DEC instead of 1408. It seems that only the LSB is taken in account.

If you breakdown the numbers into binary you will see that the bit locations 0 to 7 are still correct, so you just must not have enough binary bits to show decimal. You should investigate this route and confirm this though.

Please provide a psdata file so that we can see what is going on.

If yo open it it is in hex but if you set it to decimal you get this.
This started somewhere in the transition from picoscope 5 to 6 i think.

https://www.ans-bv.nl/picotech/20191010 ... can.psdata

in hex the ID is shown with a space in between and that is the root problem i think.
this also makes filter on ID difficult if you don't know this.

P.S. this is also the case in V7 beta.
