How to pan without using mouse?

Dear all,

Zooming in and out is possible by a keyboard shortcut or through the command line interface. Is there a way to pan left and right in a similar fashion (e.g. CLI, API call or DLL injection), without clicking and dragging the rectangle in Zoom Overview window?

Thanks for any suggestions.
