Is this a bad fuel pump current reading?

Post by Senior_Citizen »

Hello,

I'm new at this. Could someone help me determine if this is a good fuel pump or not? It's from a 2005 Pontiac Vibe (which is a Toyota with a Pontiac emblem on it). I have a Pico 2204A so I don't have access to view the wafeform library being my scope isn't an automotive scope. I wish I could see examples of good and bad Toyota fuel pumps.

I'm not sure what current my Toyota fuel pump should have, but I'm showing as high as 3.9 amps and as low as 3.3 amps on the wafeform. Pump RPM is showing 4974.4, (assuming I'm accurately on two identical humps measuring 1 rotation). I'm not sure how to count the commutator bars of this pump because my wafeform humps look so different from each other.

Any help reading my wafeform would be greatly appreciated.

Hi senior_citizen,

I would suggest you post this question on our forum for Automotive customers here: https://www.picoauto.com/support/index. ... 40897d9b7d.
