How to transmit recorded data from Dr Daq to PC wirelessly

Post by steveR »

Is there a way where I can transmit the data I collect with the Dr Daq and transit it to my computer wirelessly rather than through the USB?

Hi Steve,

You can use a wireless USB hub such as something like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-LINK-TL-WN8 ... ss+usb+hub (note that this is just an example as we haven't tested this specific wireless USB hub with our devices, so we can't verify that it works. We had an IOgear wirelesss hub that worked with our products but it has been discontinued). Alternatively, if you already have a wireless Ethernet hub, you could use a USB device server (such as this one: https://www.lambda-tek.com/Silex-E1335~sh/B3371259 which we can verify, does work with our devices).

Tanks was looking for something like this but all what I could find was over $500 and no guaranty it should work.

P.S. does it also work with picoscope 3000 and 4000 series scopes ?

Hi Benno,

We've had feedback from customers that it works with USB 2 PicoScopes. I seem to recall getting feedback from a USB 3 Picoscope user that it works with that, but searching for that ticket today haven't been able to find it yet. USB 3 is more tricky as the hub needs to pass through a connection of USB 2, then a dropped connection and reconnect for USB 3 with the correct timing. So, as I haven't found the ticket yet, I don't want to say go ahead and try one.

However, I have just been on a chat to Lambda-Tek to see if I could find out about their returns policy, and see what could be done about you trying one out (but being able to return it if it isn't working, as we need to know for sure), but they're out of stock at the moment. I'm waiting for an email regarding lead times, so in the meantime, I'll have a more detailed search for that ticket, and I'll update you when I know more.

Regards,
