PicoScope 6 user's manual

Post by JCD »

There is a 237 pages PicoScope 6 user’s guide and there was a similar guide for the PicoLog r5.
The latest version PicoLog 6 has a completely different GUI and some other features than the previous ones.
Sure the “a-to-z-data-loggers” page contains information but it’s fragmented and far from complete.
It would be very useful to me to have a comprehensive user’s manual for the PicoLog 6.
In the end it will be easier for the PicoTech staff when they don’t have to address single questions from users, and it would definitely group the info in one place.

Hi JCD,

The latest help is built into the software. Is there anything specifically that you needed to know that this doesn't cover?

The help function is nice but short.

In the "Add an alarm - custom expression" window is the possibility to check a "Run application" box.
What can it be used for?

Hi JCD,

That command is where things can get really interesting, from a data triggered control point of view.

You can setup PicoLog 6 so that when a specific data event occurs the software will run any Executable file, e.g. to convert a file format, or a script/batch file, e.g. to manipulate the parameters of file storage or file data or carry out a whole series of tasks, or even more complex execution, e.g. sending or accessing commands or information over the internet as discussed here: https://www.picotech.com/library/data-l ... fttt-alarm.
