Picoscope 2205A to acquire F-CAN signals

Dear all.
Good morning.
Hope this post finds you all in good health in these tough times.
I need your support in finding what I might be doing wrong in setup my recently acquired Picoscope 2205A.

What I want to do is: monitor F-CAN network signals in a vehicle for quick checking if there is any short to ground or short to battery positive or short between canH and can!.
The setup I am using: voltage scale = +/- 10V
Timebase = 50 us
Sample = 8KS

I have checked for the integrity of the scope leads by checking the battery voltage supply, both at the battery itself and at the DLC between pins 16 and 4. I can see battery voltage.

What am I seeing when I am checking a known good car (I want to use it as my reference for checking a faulty one): when I switch ON the ignition I can only see a flat line showing about 2,5V for both canH and canL (the same thing as I can see with my multimeter).

I tried with another car and it behaves in the same way, so I am wondering if I am missing something in the configuration of my Pico2205A.

Both vehicles have canH and canL connections at the DLC, and I am not suspecting of the backprobes I am using because I can see voltage readings.

I tried checking with ignition ON, and with engine ON, but still no luck in getting the CAN signals.

I checked on YouTube and found some videos of people using the Pico2204A to check F-CAN. Could not find any video for Pico2205A.

Any help on this topic is highly appreciated as I am now stuck on this and really need to progress with my troubleshooting. The multimeter just can’t keep up with it and I can’t really afford the automotive advised picoscope.

Can you post a link to the video showing how others are doing this. Sounds like a scope setup issue.

Have you enabled a trigger ? This will help to stabilise the signal at the point where data is on the CanBus.

Try saving a psdata file File->Save and then post this here and we can check the setup.

Hello. Good morning. Sorry for the late reply. Only recently I was able to test again. The vehicle I am testing is a CR-V hybrid (it features a CAN-Gateway).
