Best sub-$100 USB Oscilloscope?

Post by BrandonLuis »

Getting back into electronics after a 10 year hiatus. I want to get a cheap USB Oscilloscope to play with, preassembled or DIY KIT doesn't matter to me. I would prefer something with decent software and comes with a decent probe vs some cruddy alligator clips. I'll mostly be using it with Arduino based circuits.

Hi Brandon,

I can't tell you what the best sub $100 scope would be (ebay would probably be better for that) because a PicoSope would start at $115 without probes. However, I can tell you that, USB based Scopes will give you the best bang for your buck, as you are only paying for the key element of what an oscilloscope is, i.e. the data acquisition hardware, not the processing or displaying hardware (you already have that in your computer).

Also, PicoScope software is free and Pico Technology is the market leader in USB based Oscilloscopes, with high quality, as an imperative, and extensive support, including the forum that you're asking the question on.

So, I'll let you do the Math!
