5444B vs. 5444D ?

Post by Just1M »

Hi everyone,

I currently have the opportunity to buy a demo oscilloscope model 5444B at 20% off. I wonder what are the differences with a 5444D? Are they functional distinctions between the two? How old is the B revision?
I'm not able to figure out if the used 5444B is a good opportunity or not...

Thanks in advance!

Datasheet for the 5444B

The difference is that the D model is USB3 and the B model is USB2, but you are unlikely to notice this in general scoping operations using our PicoScope 6 software. If you write your own applications using the SDK you can get faster performance particularly in streaming mode.

If you know the serial number of the old unit email it to support@picotech.com and we can check when it was manufactured, and therefore how much of the 5 year warranty is left, if any.

Thank you for your input. I've missed the USB version/speed in my comparison.
I would probably buy the newest D version to be future proof, in particular because I plan to use the SDK.
