Type C High temperature thermocouples

Post by Laurencetuk »

Hi
Will any of the loggers measure the output of type C thermocouples, I just need to measure up to 2200°C

Thanks

Laurence

Hi Laurence,

Yes the TC-08 thermocouple data logger will work with an S-Type thermocouple. The S-Type has a lower sensitivity than the K-Type so, although it can measure high temperatures, it will only use a small part of the range of the TC-08.

Hi Gerry

Type S will only take me up to 1450°C, is there any way to use type C?

Thanks

Laurence

Hi Laurencetuk,

Sorry, got sidetracked there.

Actually the C-Type thermocouple is not one that is natively supported in our software. However, what you can do in our PicoLog 6 software is log the raw millivolt values read from the thermocouple and then apply a scaling Table, to convert the values to temperature for plotting in the graph.

Hi Gerry
Can I log the raw mv on the TC08 or do I need to buy a DrDAQ?

Thanks

Hi Laurence,

The TC-08 is the best data logger for thermocouples because it includes high sensitivity differential amplification (essential for low level noisy theromcouples) and Cold Junction Compensation (also essential). It's our software that does the converting of the raw data, which you can do in PicoLog 6, so the TC-08 is what you need.
