PicoScope 5442D MSO USB driver not found

Post by Thomas Kinder »

I connected my brand new 5442D MSO to my Windows 7 PC using the USB3 cable. I am using a USB2 connection of the PC. The windows Device Manager shows the "PicoScope 5000 Series PC Oscilloscope" under "other devices" (at least that is what the German words mean). But the entry has a yellow exclamation mark, and under "properties" it says "Driver was not installed. (Code 28)". I clicked "Update driver" and then "Find automatically". (I also tried to search on the CD of and older scope.) Windows searches online, but ends with the message "driver could not be found". How can I proceed?

usually installing the picoscope software will also install/update the driver.

Thank you for the tip! Deinstalling an re-installing the software with subsequent update did not work. But deinstalling and then downloading and installing the latest version of PicoScope finally worked!
