Software crashing

Post by Randy1141 »

I am using a Picolog 1012 with small terminal board. I am monitoring 5 channels at 1 sample per 10 seconds. i am trying to monitor over 60000 samples for long term stability measurements. However, the software has crashed twice, once just after 16000 samples and the next time after about 25000 samples. The software version is 5.24.8 running under Windows 10 on a Surface Pro 1 Laptop. It seems to work fine up until the point the software stops running. Any suggestions on why the software is crashing and how to get it to work reliably?

Hi,
Does the laptop have the power saving options turned off? Is it running off battery for this period?
Some laptops will turn off USB ports to save power.

Picolog 5 software is now end of life. And has been replaced with Picolog 6-https://www.picotech.com/library/data-loggers/picolog-6-data-logger-software
The current version can be downloaded here-

I suggest trying Picolog 6 software to see if you have the same issue.

The laptop has the screen and computer power options turned off. I have downloaded the Picolog - 6 and will try that.
